The Jutte The Jutte

Well, another week is in the books, and it has been a busy one!  I would've posted this sooner, but I've been working on accounting, paperwork and developing our systems at IFAST, so sorry I didn't get to this sooner!

1 - There were two great articles at T-Nation this week featuring Alwyn Cosgrove.  Even if you're not a trainer, I would highly recommend checking them out.  Great stuff there.

2 - I recently took a blood test to determine any food sensitivites that I might have, and needless to say, I DID NOT like the results!  Here's a short list of the things I'm either moderately or highly sensitive to:

- Chicken
- Beef
- Yogurt
- Coffee
- Wheat

Basically, anything that I like or eat regularly, I'm sensitive to!  The diet they recommended would have me eating nothing but fish and pork for several weeks, and definitely no coffee either.  I can only imagine what I'd be like with no real meat or coffee in my diet for six weeks.  Maybe something like this?

3 - Two more weeks until the RKC certification, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ready to get this over and done with!  I've been working really hard to get my lifts up to par, and I feel like they're coming along pretty well.  Nobody will confuse me with a master kettlebeller (or kettleballer, depending on who you're talking to), but I definitely feel a lot more confident performing and coaching the lifts.  I've even concocted some pretty sweet conditioning circuits with them as well.  The real test will come tomorrow when I give the test a dry run.

4 - Today's weapon is the jutte.  You can learn more about it here.

That's it for today folks - have a great weekend!

Stay strong

MR

What blood tests did you get?

No coffee, beef, or chicken for the next few weeks? I think when I start back at IFAST I'll have to do so in the afternoon, not in the morning :P

Look at the bright side here, at least you can eat copious amounts of bacon.

Ha! What's up with the jutte, MIke?

Next thing I know you'll be posting on the tonfa or the sodegarami !!!

No disrespect to your doc, but in my experience those blood tests for food or other allergies must be taken with a grain of salt. Have you tried an elimination diet for any of these? I've heard that's the best way to check for food allergies.

Hey Mike

Have you looked at the validity of these tests? I looked at the zinc test that is commonly used via tasting a drink and it was one poorly done study, just showing that it was better than another crap test - yet this reference is used worldwide.
