The 2010 Midwest Performance Enhancement Seminar

2010 Midwest Performance Enhancement Seminar

Once again, I’m trying to do 1000 things at a time, but I think we’re dialing things in for this year’s seminar.

Assuming all goes well today at the Hilton (i.e. the conference room isn’t a rat infested dump, the coffee doesn’t taste like toxic sludge, etc.) I should have a finalized venue by the end of business today.

For those of you who are interested, here are the preliminary details (keep in mind these can and will change once I have all the firm details):

2010 Midwest Performance Enhancement Seminar

Saturday, August 28th, from 8 am – 6 pm

Indianapolis Hilton North

Proposed speakers (these guys have all expressed interest, it really comes down to if the date will work for them):

Carlo Alvarez – Currently at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, and former head strength and conditioning coach for the Cincinnati Reds.

Brian Grasso – Founder and President of the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA).

Joseph Kenn -Division I strength coach for the past 20 years.  Worked a schools such as Boise State, Utah, Arizona State, and Louisville.

Bill Hartman – Physical therapist and co-owner of Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training.

Chris Mohr – Owner of Mohr Results’, Inc., and the Sports Nutritionist for Under Armor’s TNP Training Training Council.

Pat Rigsby – I don’t even know how to describe Pat, other than he’s one of the great business minds in our industry.

Mike Robertson – Some slouch with a blog 😉

A few random notes on the seminar:

–  Once we’re set to go, I’m going to seek approval for NSCA CEU’s. I would assume we can at least get .7 CEU’s for the event.

–  I know people like schwag, so I’m going to hit up some major players to see if we can’t get some cool give-aways for those in attendance.

–  There will most likely be either an AM or a PM beverage service, but not both.  I think I had a mini-stroke when I saw that between the actual costs, fees, and taxes involved, we’d essentially be paying $15 per person for what typically amounts to a cup of coffee!

–  Last but not least, I know everyone wants to know the price.  Here’s what I’m thinking:

Early Bird Registration – $149

Standard Registration – $199

My goal is simple:  To put on a national caliber seminar and bring it to Indianapolis.  If you’re unfamiliar with the list of names above, they are some of the best and brightest in our industry.  I have no doubt that they’ll do a fantastic job, and everyone in attendance will be very pleased with the content and scope of the seminar.

So that’s it.  I check out the venue today, and hopefully I’ll hear back from all the speakers before I leave for vacation on Sunday.  Once we’re dialed in with the specifics, I’ll pull together a flier/payment link/etc. and we’ll be ready to go.

Stay tuned!  I feel like this is going to be a fantastic event!

All the best

Mike
