Introduction

Conservation of energy states that the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant, although it may change forms (for instance, friction turns kinetic energy into thermal energy).

Put simply, the law of conservation of energy states that energy can not be created or destroyed—it can only be changed from one form to another (such as electrical energy into heat energy). (Referenced from wikipedia.org).

Before I get on to the main topic here, I want to fill you all in on something – these last few weeks have been far from memorable. I won’t go into details, just understand that I’ve had a lot going on and I’ve had a lot of negative energy building up inside me.

Last night I was laying in bed, and I realized that I had the power to stop this; to take that negative energy and turn it into something positive. I hope that this e-mail will turn into something very positive, and will give a boat-load of money to a great cause.

The Lift-Strong Project

As many of you already know, Alwyn Cosgrove has now beaten cancer TWICE!

That, in and of itself, is amazing. What’s more amazing is the kind of person Alwyn is; quite possibly the most highly regarded professional in the business today, Alwyn is known for not just being a great coach but a great mentor as well. I’ve had the privilege of knowing him for several years now, and he’s always there to compliment you on a great article, to answer questions, or to let you know when something needs improvement. Quite simply, he’s one of the best human beings I’ve ever met.

Several months ago I was contacted by Alwyn to contribute to a very special project called Lift Strong. Essentially, it’s a massive collaboration of authors and information; when the dust settled, this project brought in over 50 industry experts and topped out at over 800 pages.

So the fact that he wanted me to contribute to the Lift Strong project should’ve been reason enough, right? After all, how do you turn down a two-time cancer survivor when all the proceeds he raises go to the Lymphoma and Leukemia society?

Quite simply, you don’t – but there’s another reason why I wanted to contribute to this project.

Growing up I was lucky enough to have the typical “nuclear” family – two happily married parents, a sister, and about a zillion animals. I was also lucky enough to know all my grandparents, a fact few kids can claim. The problem was, I didn’t know any of them well enough.

When I was a junior in high school I returned from a volleyball double-header to the news that my grandmother whom I was closest to had just passed. I actually had to attend her funeral on the same day as my Junior Prom. Needless to say, it was a very tough time as I felt an amazing emotional connection with her.

Almost one year to the day, I lost my other grandmother as well.

And about three years later, I lost my grandfather.

I’m sure you’re thinking, “Whats’ the connection here?”

I lost all of them to cancer.

Quite honestly, my grandparents never got to see me grow up into who I am today. I can always take solace that they are looking down on me, but that’s no replacement for having them here with you, in the flesh. Perhaps if our drugs were better, our research more thorough, or our resolve a little stronger I could still have one or all of them here with me today.

So I guess my reason for contributing to the Lift Strong project was to do my part; to contribute to a project that will save the grandparents of someone else out there, so they can spend more time with their family and watch their grandkids grow up.

Alwyn recently mentioned that we’ve spent more money on the war with Iraq than we have in 35 years of cancer research. We may not have control over how the government spends our tax dollars, but WE DO have control over where we spend our money.

Here’s my plea: Purchase the Lift Strong CD-ROM. Whether you chose to ever read its contents or not is irrelevant; by purchasing this product, you are going to make an impact. Our goal is to reach $1,000,000 for cancer research with this one product.

And before you get overwhelmed, don’t! 50,000 people need to purchase this product to help us reach our goal. Don’t worry about the 50,000, focus on the one (that’s you!) whom you have control over.

It’s only 25 bucks and you’ll be contributing to a great cause. I have no way to track this, but I’d love to see a huge number of you on this list purchase the product. Not only will you benefit from the massive amount of information within it (remember it’s over 800 pages), but you’ll be doing your small part to make the world a better place. I may have grown up, but it’s going to take a lot more pounding to knock the idealist out of me.

Please, don’t delay – purchase your copy of the Lift Strong CD today. Because in reality, it’s not a matter of IF cancer will affect your life, but WHEN.

Stay strong,

Mike
