I was really going to pull something together today, but it just didn’t happen. Damn ear infection!
Anyway, here we go with today’s random thoughts:
– One thinking I’ve been working really hard on lately is refining my approach to single-leg exercises. I don’t think they’re the be-all, end-all of training, but I think we need a rational progression when using them. Stay tuned on this front.
– I just finished my second week of 5/3/1, and I’m really enjoying it. To clarify, I’ve finished my second CALENDAR week, not my second TRAINING week. I’m doing three workouts per week, so I still have triples on military and squats to look forward to.
– Oh my god, anything over singles for the deadlift kicks my ass. Can you say no work capacity? Damn you Jim Wendler!!!!
I have a lot of thoughts on this as well. Again, stay tuned.
– Friday, as usual, is program writing day. Luckily, I didn’t have a ridiculous amount today, which is why you’re getting this blog (albeit a little later than usual!)
– Two words: Usain Bolt.
– What percentage of runners do YOU think gets injured every year? I did some research on this topic after yesterday’s blog post, and I was more than a little shocked. Post any ideas below in the “Comments” section.
I’ve got a nice line-up of posts for next week, so I’ll leave it at that. Have a great weekend!
Stay strong
