I just finished up an interview with Leigh Peele of AvidityFitness.net, and one of the topics we discussed was the Internet entrepreneur.
Now I, myself, am an Internet entrepreneur, and I really like what I do for a living. My full-time gig is the gym and coaching clients and athletes. That’s what I do. And that, in turn, has allowed me to do other things that I enjoy and allow me to make money – write articles, develop manuals/DVD’s, speak at seminars, etc. However, my ability to coach, educate and convey knowledge was there first – NOT the business knowledge.
What I like most about this is that I have the opportunity to influence and help people improve themselves as coaches, trainers, or athletes on a daily basis. And quite simply, this “gift” or “privilege” if you will can not and should not be taken lightly. When people are entrusting you with their health or well-being, they deserve your very best.
That was a big reason I decided to go through the web update. Sure, it cost me some money and time in the short-run, but I think it’s going to do big things for me in the long run. My primary goal with the site always has been and always will be CONTENT. And not just average, run of the mill content; but solid content that you can use immediately to improve yourself and your training. We’ll start off with the basics like the blog, articles, and some video clips, and hopefully over the course of time expand that to things like audio interviews, video coaching segments, etc.
I understand that there are people out there that don’t like Internet entrepreneurs for one reason or another. I can’t help that. But I can choose which side I’m on, and quite simply I’m going to be one of the good guys. I may not get rich quick. I may not have the biggest list. I may not always be right in what I say or do.
But I’m always going to focus on getting better. And as the saying goes, “Life is a journey, not a destination – we determine our destiny by the direction we take.”
Here’s to the good guys!
Stay strong
