Random Friday 8-29-14

SennMicrophoneOh hey there – long time no see!

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, with work, travel, and a bunch of personal commitments all coming together at once.

But I wanted to get this blog up today, just so you know what all is going on – and that I haven’t forgotten about you.

Here we go!

EAD Seminar DVD’s HUGE Success

mail_image_previewAs you probably know, last week Joe Kenn and I released our “Elite Athletic Development” seminar DVD’s.

Needless to say, our launch was a huge success, and we’re incredibly humbled by the support.

Joe and I are already planning next year’s event, which we will announce in late November or early December. Stay tuned to the blog/newsletter for more info and details!

Schedule and Agenda

Can I just take one quick moment and breathe?

I don’t know what I was thinking schedule-wise this year, but I’m pretty sure I went crazy 🙂

Between Indy Eleven travel, speaking engagements, and the truly important stuff like being a dad and husband, I’ve got more than enough going on to keep me busy.

Here are some quick highlights of what’s to come speaking-wise:

September 13th – Smart Group Training Summit

I’ll be traveling to beautiful St. Louis, Missouri, to hang out with my good friends Steve Long and Jared Woolever.

In this combo session, I’m going to be covering the basics of the R7 approach, and then taking the attendees through a live, hands-on session training session.

I’m really excited because I love the R7 approach, but I also like showing it off too. If you want to see how the IFAST system looks and feels in real-life, definitely check this out!

September 27th – Elite Fitness and Performance Summit

This time in Louisville, I’ll be doing two separate lectures – one on the R7 approach to program design, and the second on conditioning for the adult athlete.

The adult presentation should be eye-opening. My goal is to show you how smart energy system training can merge seamlessly with the business side, to help you build better people and a better business.

If you train adults, this will be a game-changer for you.

October 18th and 19th – Foundational Program Design and Coaching

My first trip across the pond in nearly 5 years will take me to Dublin, Ireland for a two-day course.

With a very heavy Scottish-Irish descent, this one is a dream – not only because I get to see my homeland, but because I get to (hopefully) redefine how the attendees train their clients.

In this two-day course, my goal is to give the attendees the foundational personal training/athletic development course that most of us never got.

We’re going to break down all the fundamental elements of program design and coaching, so that everyone who walks out will be an immediately improved coach.

November 7th and 8th – 5th Annual Midwest Performance Enhancement Seminar

Our 5th annual Midwest Performance Enhancement seminar is, on paper, our best event yet.

We’re going to follow the model we built a few years ago, because it worked exceedingly well.

On Friday, we’re going to have a rotation of speakers including:

  • Lee Taft,
  • Joel Jamieson,
  • Bill Hartman,
  • Wil Fleming,
  • Chase Karnes,
  • Grant “Rufus” Gardis, and
  • Some guy named Robertson.

On Saturday, we’re going to have Mark McLaughlin in for an entire day to talk about his approach to training. This will go from assessment, to coaching, to managing the athlete, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to learn from Mark.

With tons of raffle prizes and giveaways, as well as a social on Friday night, you don’t want to miss this event!

December 11th-13th – Building the Antifragile Athlete

Last but not least I’ll be flying out to Seattle for Dave Tenney’s “Building the Antifragile Athlete” course. I haven’t dialed in my exact course materials for this one yet, but I’m sure that will get done in the next couple of weeks.

Whew – I’m tired just typing all that!

Needless to say, though, I’m so excited about the opportunity to work with other motivated coaches and trainers. It’s going to be a fast-paced (and awesome!) couple of months.

(For my complete seminar and travel agenda, please go here: RTS Speaking and Travel agenda).

Miscellaneous Stuff

Here are a few quick-hit items to wrap up.

An RTS gift for you? I’ve got a present coming in the mail to those of you who have purchased several RTS products over the years. Needless to say I appreciate your support, and I hope you enjoy the little gift you’ll now be receiving on a monthly basis!

Great interviews coming up! I’ve got some awesome interviews coming up here on the site, with three already completed and another two yet to wrap-up. Needless to say, these are some incredibly bright coaches and I think you’re going to love their insight!

Chad Marshall is good at soccer. This is his fourth time being named to the MLSSoccer.com’s team of the week!

That’s it for today everyone. Have a great week!

All the best

MR
