The Lift Strong Call to Arms

Lift Strong

A few days ago, I was browsing the Internet and I came across a blog I hadn’t seen before. I knew it was going to be posted at some point in time, but I’d since forgotten about it.

The blog was for Bob Youngs. If you don’t know anything about Bob, he’s one of us -a powerlifter, a husband, and an all-round good guy. I don’t know what his current role was for Elite FTS, but the guy had answered so many questions and helped so many people out over the years it was ridiculous. I had e-mailed back and forth with Bob a few times in the past to talk shop, and he was nothing but a class act every time.

Unfortunately, Bob recently found out he had cancer. I had a chance to review his blog a few days ago, and I was almost brought to tears. If you need to remember what cancer can do to a man and his family, take a few moments of your weekend to check this out:

Bob Young’s LiveStrong Blog

Several years ago, one of my mentors was almost taken away from me. The crazy thing is, he wasn’t even a mentor at the time because I didn’t even know him yet!

Alwyn Cosgrove has been one of, if not the, strongest influences on me as a coach, businessman and as a human being. His impact on me has been profound in every possible regard.

Alwyn survived cancer not once but TWICE.

I’m sure at this point you’re wondering, what does this have to do with me?

Well nothing – and everything.

I’ve asked before and I’m going to ask again – if you’ve EVER been affected by cancer in some way, shape or form, take just a small amount of your hard earned paycheck and give back. The LiftStrong CD ROM has over 800 pages of top-notch training information, and for a price of $24.99 it’s downright cheap.

Every single penny of your money goes to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Quite simply, it goes to help save the lives of people like Bob.

Now I know sometimes people need a little pushing to make something happen, and I’m ready to do that myself. Here’s what I’m thinking; Alwyn is going to keep track of how many LiftStrong CD’s we sell in the next week. To incentivize everyone a bit, here’s what I want to do:

If we sell 100 copies of LiftStrong in the next week, I’ll randomly select 10 people to receive free RTS t-shirts and hats

If we sell 250 copies of LiftStrong, I’ll pick one or two people randomly to take on as online training clients.

If we sell 500 copies of LiftStrong, I will hold a free one-day seminar for anyone who purchases a copy and wants to attend. I don’t care if I have to rent a ballroom here in town, I will make this happen!

If we sell 1000 copies, I will personally pull together a super-event here in Indianapolis for anyone who purchases a copy. Now I know you think I’m talking crazy, but just off the top of my head I bet I could convince Alwyn, Dave Tate, Bill Hartman, Eric Cressey and some other top notch coaches to present. And I imagine that hotels would be flocking at the “exposure” to get an event like this held at their facility.

That would be worth a small investment on your part, right?

If we want to make massive change, we have to think far bigger than ever before. If you can purchase one copy for yourself, great! Do it now!!!

Maybe you can purchase several copies and pass a few on to family and friends. There are always young people in our lives that need some solid influence when it comes to training. This CD would be a great beginning resource for them.

What if you don’t have cash? After all, the economic downturn has probably hit all of us to some degree. If you can’t pay a single dime, I don’t care! Take 10 seconds of your day and forward this blog on to someone else.

Re-tweet it to your list.

Quite simply, help us out by spreading the word. You can do SOMETHING that will help us make an impact. Obviously we need people to spend money and make the purchase, but if you can’t do that help us out in other ways. Because if people don’t know about it, there’s no way they can help.

So that’s it – my call to arms. I’ve lost several close family and friends to cancer. I almost lost one of the single-biggest influences in my life, before I ever knew him.

And I, personally, don’t want to lose any more.

Please help us out and purchase a copy (or two, or three) of the LiftStrong CD-ROM today.

Have a great week and LIFT strong

MR
