Assess and Correct vs Previous Products

Magnificent Mobility

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately regarding the differences between Assess and Correct, Magnificent Mobility, and Inside-Out.  I’ll do my best to answer those questions here:

What do your earlier DVD’s, Magnificent Mobility and Inside Out, cover that is not in Assess and Correct?

There isn’t a ton of information in M2 and Inside-Out that isn’t in Assess and Correct.  A lot of the best materials from the previous DVD’s made it into Assess and Correct.

I’m wondering if there’s sufficient additional material in the earlier DVDs to justify their cost?

I think there’s definitely some material from the previous products that would benefit you.  There are still some exercises in those DVD’s that we use and employ on a daily basis, although they didn’t “make the cut” into Assess and Correct.

The problem, however, is that they’re not neatly placed into a progression, so it’s not nearly as user-friendly for the end-user.

Does this mean the earlier DVDs contain obsolete thinking or information?

Again, I don’t think obsolete is the correct term – we’ve always promoted getting mobility in the t-spine, hips, etc.

However, I think we’ve definitely refined our approach to coaching and, more importantly, progressing the exercises.  As well, we’ve really placed a premium on stabilizing the lumbar spine throughout our exercises and drills.

Finally, A&C is superior in the fact that it’s a total-body resource.  Our goal was to leave no stone unturned, and hopefully we did that.

What’s worthwhile in the older DVDs that’s not covered in Assess and Correct?

In Magnificent Mobility, there are several exercises that we still use which we simply couldn’t place in A&C for time/length purposes.  We wanted to make the progressions clear and concise, without necessarily adding too many drills to each section.

In Inside-Out, there are several pieces of written material in the manual that aren’t included in the DVD.  Along those same lines, I feel Inside-Out is more logical in its progression and layout than M2 – while M2 is a collection of exercises, Inside-Out gives you a specific way to layout and perform the exercises.

I still feel there’s value to both products.  Some people may just be looking for more exercises or progressions.  Others may not want to pay $97 (and after this week, $127) for A&C, especially if they just want upper or lower body drills.

In the end, however, if you’re just getting started with our products I feel Assess and Correct is the clear winner.
