The Random Post 9.11.24

Hey friend!

As you probably know, one of my goals this time of year is to get more articles and content out there into the world.

So every now and then I’m going to go back to one of my favorite article styles…

…the RANDOM post!

The title kinda tells the whole story, so let’s go ahead and dive into the content!

Simple Tip of the Day

While I hate seeing my basketball players head out to training camps, one bright side is MY training gets to crank back up.

While I’m typically wiped after coaching athletes all day, when I’m training myself I actually have MORE creativity and energy to make posts like this one.

So the next time you’re in the gym, I want you to try this little trick on your split-squats – I’ve found it makes a big difference in how they feel.

Give it a shot!

The Podcast is Killing It!

When you’ve created over 450+ podcasts, there are definitely peaks and valleys.

I’d love to tell you it’s all puppies and balloons, and that I’m super excited about every single show that comes out.

But unfortunately that’s not reality – the law of averages tells us some episodes are going to be better than others.

However, there are also times when it feels like the podcast is super easy, and that every guest who comes on is ready to crush it – and we’re definitely in one of those “hot streaks” right now!

If you haven’t check out the podcast before, now would be a great time to do so.

Or if you’ve listened before but maybe fallen off a bit, consider picking a recent episode and listening on your walk, commute to work, or when you’re doing chores around the house.

I’m sure one of the recent shows will peak your interest!

Complete Coach Certification Goes LIVE Next Week!

It seems like just yesterday it was May – my kids were getting done with school, athletes were getting back into town, and summer was just getting rolling.

So how in the world is it already SEPTEMBER?

Kiddos are back in school.

Athletes are pretty much all gone.

And I had to wear a winter freakin’ jacket to Kendall’s soccer game on Sunday morning!

As always, life goes on and it’s almost time to open up another opportunity to get started with the Complete Coach Certification.

I’m often asked who the cert is for, and I always come back to one answer:

The Complete Coach Cert is for the coach who wants to make their assessments, program design, and coaching and cuing easier.

Look, it’s easier than ever to get bogged down in the details.

Or to find yourself in some deep, dark Internet rabbit hole.

But if you want a tried and true system that’s used by everyone from personal trainers to professional sports organizations, then the Complete Coach Cert is exactly what you’re looking for.

RTS Program Design Mentorship Opening Back Up Soon

One thing that’s interesting about being in this business is people always want to know “What’s next?”

(And in all fairness – I do ask this of almost every podcast guest, so I get it!)

But years ago when I created the cert, the immediate reaction I got was something like this:

“Mike I loved the cert and took a ton away from it…But what should I do now?”

And that, my friends, is why I created the Program Design Mentorship!

Even though I teach you all the foundational program design info in the cert, it’s still impossible for me to teach you everything you need to know in there – especially when we’re also covering assessments, coaching and cuing, exercise progressions and regressions, etc.

In the PDM, we can really dive into all the details.

We can walk through case studies.

And we can dive even deeper into the WHY behind program design.

If you’re interested in learning more about the program design mentorship, be on the lookout for an email from me in early October.

There is an application process to get in, and I review (and admit) mentees on a first-come, first-served basis.

More on that to come soon!

Did You Miss this FREE Video?

Last but not least, did you miss this FREE video I posted last week?

While it’s geared towards basketball players, anyone who trains athletes can benefit from the concepts, ideas, and progressions I outline in this video.

Plus, I think this is a pretty darn good reflection of what my content at IFAST Basketball Insiders is like.

As I’ve said numerous times before if I’m going to do something I’m going to go all in, and I’m really proud of the content that’s in there so far.

Okay that does it for today my friend.

Thanks so much for reading and MAKE IT a great day!

All the best
MR
