Hey friend!

So I’m trying something new, and I need to know if you like it…

With the ever-changing algorithms in social media, sometimes it’s hard to see all the content you want.

So instead of making you go and search for my content, I thought I’d pull it all together and post it here for you!

And beyond the standard write-ups, I’ll do my best to provide some unique insight here, just to make it worth your while.

Anyway, take a peek here and let me know what you think!

Thoughts on Programming and Coaching

How much should coach and cue your clients?

This is a topic I’ve gone back and forth on over the years, but I think the answer is “it depends.”

But that answer isn’t super sexy, so hopefully this video will help explain in a bit more depth…

Podcast Soundbytes

The podcast has really been rolling the past couple of months, and I believe October and November were our highest downloads EVER in history!

That’s pretty cool when you think about it…the podcast has been around for over 6 years now, so the fact that it’s still growing and has an impact makes me feel pretty good.

Anyway, here are two highlights from recent shows – one on writing better programs, and the other from my guy Cody McBroom.

And if you’d like to check out the full episodes, you can find those here:

Training Clips (and Movement Thoughts)

So not sure if you’re aware or not, but training has been hit-or-miss for the past month or so.

Had some pretty crazy schedule changes where I was working in the AM, so while I got it in, it wasn’t at full intensity.

Then, got sick for 2 weeks (including COVID) so that definitely slowed my roll as well.

Anyway, as I get back into it, I’ve got a few goals with these videos:

  • To show you that no one (myself included) moves perfectly,
  • To give you some insights into what I’m working on,
  • To show you things I’m looking at in my own movement, and
  • How I’m structuring sessions to get the most bang for my buck.

Now while most people will just watch the videos, I’d really implore you to read the captions as well. I think there’s a ton of great info in there that can really help you better understand my approach and thought process.

Movement Demos

Last but not least, movement demos!

Everyone likes to learn new moves, and I’m all for it – as long as they have a purpose and a place in the program.

Much like the training reels above, don’t just watch the videos but read the caption as well. I try and give insight into each one of these so you have a better idea of how to implement these into either your programs, or those of your clients/athletes.

Summary

Okay so that’s it for this week – what did you think?

I’m going to try running these for the foreseeable future, but if you like it, please let me know either in the comments below or directly on the ‘gram.

Thanks so much for your support and have a Happy Holiday season!

All the best,
MR
